6th October, 2018
Building on the overwhelmingly positive experience of last year’s Fun Palace at Krowji we will once again be inviting the local community into Krowji to interact with artists, learn techniques and try out FREE hands-on activities. Fun Palace at Krowji 2018 will see a number of artists gathered together in one space here at Krowji to showcase activities, workshops and demonstrations based on ‘The science of creativity and the art of science’.
September 2018 Press Release
Visitors of all ages and abilities will have the chance to interact with artists, learn techniques and try out hands-on activities.
Ten talented artists and makers will be sharing their skills, stories and creative secrets, including Nicola Bottono silver jewellery who’ll be showing visitors how to form metal and Mel Johns & Fijke Middendorp who will be demonstrating techniques of printing without a press.
Vicki Aimers, Mixed Media Artist & Marie MakesVintage will be encouraging visitors to print onto fabric using inks and handmade stamps to create work inspired by the Tregellas Tapestries, Redruth's hidden treasure, ahead of their relocation to Archives and Cornish Studies Service Kresen Kernow.
Visitors can turn their hand to other materials and get stuck-in marbling with Lesley Plumridge Artist, get hands-on with clay with Susywardceramics or have some fun making ‘beancan puppets’ with artist Chris Nixon.
Fun Palaces create events that bring together arts and sciences – but above all PEOPLE – to work together, create together, have FUN together, and in doing so, build our own communities, from the grassroots up.
