New Place is part of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, and is the site that makes up Shakespeare’s final home, including gardens and the house next door, ’Nash’s House’.

Our Proud Shakespeare Delivery Group is taking over this year, with talks and activities that celebrate LGBTQ+ empowerment, Tudor history and self-expression.

Design an outfit inspired by our Tudor costume collection, learn about how Shakespeare challenged assumptions about dress and gender on-stage, try some origami or listen to a special talk on Shakespeare in folklore & popular culture.

The event will be held from 11-3pm in Shakespeare’s New Place, with craft activities on the ground floor of Nash’s House, and talks taking place in the Golden Garden.

The rest of the outdoor site including the Tudor Knot Garden and Great Garden will be free to enjoy for the duration of the day from 11-3pm (last entry 2.30pm).
