Description

Join us to celebrate the Fun Palace 10-year Anniversary on Saturday 5th October from 10am. Taking place across Stratford-upon-Avon, run in partnership between Warwickshire Libraries, Stratford Town Trust, and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

Stratford Library are celebrating our creative community with events for all ages including performances by local school choirs, a drop-in singing workshop for adults and children aged 8+, a community Shakespeare reading of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and more.

Warwickshire Libraries are also running Fun Palaces at Rugby and Bedworth Libraries on Sat 5th Oct, and Nuneaton Library on Sun 6th Oct

Stratford Town Trust is delighted to be holding their Fun Palace at the Crowne Plaza between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 5th October for FREE activities for all ages. Join in, share your skills, make friends, learn how to Bollywood dance, beat a drum, sing, create some graffiti art, explore a fire engine and more!  Or just sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the company. We have exciting events happening throughout the day alongside stalls with crafts, activities and information, all run by local groups.

Inspired by their multi-year theme, the Women Who Made Shakespeare, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust invites audiences to take part in a creative writing workshop outside the Birthplace with local writer Lucy Parrott. They can also try their hand at quill writing.

“We believe in the genius in everyone, in everyone an artist and everyone a scientist, and that creativity in community can change the world for the better.” – Fun Palace website

This Fun Palace is for us all.  It’s about Stratford coming together, sharing our skills, and learning something new.  It’s about the things we enjoy doing together and making our community shine.
