We are encouraging them to write a sentence, a verse or a poem either about what they love about Redruth or what they love about the Library – or both! Pop in to the library and share your verses and we’ll display them across the library and town over the Fun Palace weekend.

Description

Fun Palaces supports local people to co-create their own cultural and community events, across the UK and worldwide, sharing and celebrating the genius in everyone.

As part of the Fun Palaces project, which takes place on the first weekend of October every year, we are engaging with our Library Volunteers, our Young Volunteers, our Home Library Service and our Youth Council – asking them to get creative. We are encouraging them to write a sentence, a verse or a poem either about what they love about Redruth or what they love about the Library – or both! Our project will celebrate our volunteers who have supported us during Covid, encourage our Young Library Volunteers and Youth Council to get inspired by all things “Library” and thank those vulnerable and house bound customers who have continued to use our service.

All quotes and verses will be written on our windows, to create a Tiny Fun Palace on Saturday 2nd October sharing with our community how creative we are. We will be working in partnership with the Redruth HAZ Fun Palace project to create a trail that will lead from the Library and Town Council offices through the town, engendering a sense of community and pride.
