How To Make Friends - Meet The Blogger

How To Make Friends

A Fun Palace is the perfect place to meet new people, make connections and, who know, maybe even strike up a new friendship. But what if you're shy, or struggle to make friends, or lack confidence? Well fear not, for we have a friendly expert in our midst. Enter Gemma Scopes, creator of the award-winning blog How To Make Friends. Gemma is on a mission to cure loneliness and is coming along to the Sax Fun Palace to answer all your friendship queries. And if you're thinking about writing a blog but don't know where to start, what better person to ask, than an award-winning blogger? Gemma will be at the Market Hall on Sunday 7 October, from 12.30-4.30pm. Come along and introduce yourself, she'd love to meet you.

Food Glorious Food (and tea, and coffee, and squash...)

Once again, we have the WI, a bunch of other volunteers and Tesco and Waitrose to thank for agreeing to keep the Fun Palace makers and participants fed and watered throughout the entire fun-filled weekend. Teas, coffees, soft drinks and light snacks will be available at St Johns Church Hall on Saturday and Market Hall on Sunday, leaving you free to enjoy the many activities on offer for as long as you like. There'll be a minimal charge for refreshments, to cover the cost of ingredients supplied by individuals, and any money left over will go into the pot for next year's Fun Palace. The Fun Palace is a free event, run by volunteers, and there's no budget. Last year the WI raised around £80 from cafe sales which they donated to this year's event. This means we've been able to supply more participants with the necessary materials, such as paints, paper, craft items etc, so that more of you can enjoy the activities they provide. Thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing you all there.
