Oh What a Lovely Fun Palace

We’re so excited to be running another Fun Palace this year and we’re hoping to see you there! We’ll be running a whole host of creative activities throughout the day, so there’s something for the whole family to have fun with. The day will start with a short Sensory Baby activity and storytelling session in the morning, as well an amazing mini Architecture Challenge for the more advanced members of the family – see what you can create using just a few lolly sticks! Performances by the superb Swale Sings community choir will be interspersed throughout the afternoon and you’ll have the chance to get your own voice heard in our fun Five Word Protest workshop. Design a placard and express your opinion on a scientific, environmental or any other issue you might feel strongly about. We will also be playing some TED talks for you to view and review. A big part of Fun Palaces is community, so one of the afternoon activities is the Community Blueprint. You’ll get to reimagine No.34 into a dream space and add sketches to a blueprint of the building. You could design us a rock climbing wall to replace the stairs or add solar panels to the roof! Live out all your architectural aspirations and really make this Fun Palace your own! Pick up a Passport to Fun to track your creativity – get a sticker/stamp each time you participate in a Fun Palace event. There will be signposts to each activity and a programme of the day’s events, you can choose to stay all day or pop in and out and just join in with the activities that appeal most to you!
