Little Workshop of Horrors

Want to look freakin’ scary for Halloween? Want to frighten your friends witless? Fancy making vile nibbles with our horribly bad non-celebrity chefs?

Then head down to Cobden Works and meet the wicked folk at Walk the Plank for an Open Weekend of frighteningly FREE fun activities to do and see. Open for one horrible weekend only.

Little Workshop of Horrors  (Sat 6th Oct: 2- 5pm & Sun 7 Oct: 2 - 6pm)

There’s Revolting Delores on our Bad Makeup counter who will add haunting years to your looks and give you truly smouldering eyes. More mould than smouldering but you get the idea.

Poisoned Ivy of Curl Up & Dye will give you the ugliest back comb in town, while Ivor Globule in our staff canteen will be making gunk juice and bile burgers.

Watch Professor D Zaster try a shaky hand (what’s left of it) with yet another slimy experiment.

The horrifying thing is that it’s all FREE in the day.

Where to find us? Just over the road from Flex ’n’ Tone gym.

Who's it for? Everyone welcome from 0 - 100+!

Cobden Works' Little Workshop of Horrors is part of Fun Palaces, bringing culture to the heart of the community.  The Palace is supported by the European Cultural Foundation as part of the Tandem Fryslan project and also supported with local funding from Salford City Council.

Ghouls Paradise Cabaret

Join us on Saturday evening for our 'pay as you glow' Ghoul's Paradise Cabaret, Saturday 6 October from 7.30pm.

Pay what you feel the cabaret deserves. If our performers leave you with a warm glow of appreciation, hand over your worldly goods and more. If they leave you cold, offer less - even some advice! It's a bit of an experiment (there's nothing like trying your skeletal hand at some experiments in preparation for Halloween) so we're looking for both performers and an audience to see what and who comes on stage.

Email ben.turner@walktheplank.co.uk if you want to take part. Just want to watch? - then rock up for 7.30pm.

Kindly hosted by Mandy Romero with musical support from Mean Bizness, a brilliant 10-piece soul band.

All funds raised will go towards our Cobden Works fire damage repair campaign. One of our workshops was badly damaged by fire in July (on freakin' Friday 13th) so it needs a bit of a makeover.

Finally, finally - watch out around Salford on Halloween for some spooky goings on around your local streets. Our Little Workshop of Horrors is just the start...
