Local History at Dundee Libraries are celebrating Fun Palaces this year with an online challenge!
We spend a lot of time thinking about history and how we remember it – through books, buildings, statues, street names and much more. But all of these start with people and their stories, and there are so many important people from Dundee’s history who we don’t see reflected in our streets.
So we’re asking you – whose stories should we remember in Dundee?
We would love to hear from you about your favourite figures from Dundee history, old and new – maybe someone from your family or community, someone you’ve always admired or someone who’s a cautionary tale.
Is there a place, or a monument, that reminds you of them? Would you like to create one?
They don’t even have to be real – remember, this is the city with statues to dragons and Desperate Dan!
Get creative with your responses – you can tell us in writing, video, audio recordings, drawings or any other way you can think of.
The video for our challenge is coming soon – keep an eye on Fun Palaces and Dundee Libraries’ social media…
